Research Institute in Semiochemistry and Applied Ethology
IRSEA is a private research institute dedicated to the study of the behaviour of animals and humans, their interactions and especially their chemical communication.
The purpose of the Institute is to study and understand the mechanisms underlying these functions, but also to develop methods to improve behavioural and interaction management and welfare.
Semiochemistry (from the Greek “semios” sign) studies chemical communication, the oldest and most widespread mode of transmission of information among living beings.
IRSEA was created from an idea:
Interacting with the living world using its codes,
rather than trying to bend it to our requirements.
In order to achieve harmonious and functional co-existence, IRSEA never works to seek coercive solutions, methods of eradication, but on the contrary to coexistence and sharing of the world we have.
The challenge is therefore to find new ways to interact, to influence living processes, in such a way that man can maintain his physiological balance, while respecting that of other living beings: absolute conditions for a real sustainability of our development on Earth.
Veterinary practice specialising in Behavioural Medicine and Animal Welfare
The CECBA is exclusively dedicated to animals with behavioural disturbances. It does not conduct “traditional” consultations (vaccine, sterilization, tattooing, etc.) but only deals with cases of behavioural disorders or animal welfare.
Equipped with three consultation rooms dedicated to the different species (dog, cat/NAC and horse) the centre is designed to match these specialties. Each room has a specific layout to help observe and allow the clinician to better understand why the owner decides to come to see us.
The centre has a competent veterinary staff (two graduates of the European College, two graduates of the Master of Behavioural Medicine from the Veterinary Faculty of Pisa and a Behavioural Veterinarian from the French Veterinary Schools), and an efficient technical platform (video analysis systems, hormonal assays, immunoassays). histo-chemical, analysis of semiochemical secretions). The CECBA is designed as an advanced veterinary structure for teaching and research.
Each consultation is scheduled on an appointment basis and preceded by the completion of an online questionnaire (in the case of a dog consultation) which will already collect more important information about the animal's life, behaviour and clinical history. This information is supplemented by a thorough clinical visit of the animal and harvesting the examinations necessary to produce a functional diagnosis and prognosis for the establishment of the best behavioral therapy.
Patent Development Agency of the IRSEA Group
SIGNS (Semiochemicals for Innovation Gathering Novelty and Sustainability), established in 2018, is the patent valuation agency of the IRSEA Group, a world leader in semiochemistry research. Both entities have developed a range of synthetic pheromone products that copy nature, thus reproducing beneficial effects for animals and humans.
SIGNS has to date many products for production animals such as pork, cattle, poultry or rabbit, but also a horse product and soon a product for humans.
SIGNS Laboratories therefore seek to offer innovative solutions to meet economic, environmental and welfare needs.
How does it work?
Throughout their lives, living beings communicate in different ways. Communication via pheromones is an innate communication established from an early age. This is the oldest and most widespread mode of transmission of information among living beings.
Soothing pheromones reduce stress while improving welfare in a way that respects humans, the environment and animals.
First autologous stem cell bank
For the past 4 years, the TheraStem team has been developing numerous studies and trials to evaluate the therapeutic capabilities of olfactory stem cells.
And the results are at the rendezvous !
How does it work?
From stem cells present in a small biopsy of your animal's olfactory mucosa, TheraStem researchers will grow a population of tens of millions of stem cells that will be stored in liquid nitrogen.
This “ cell account ” is composed exclusively of cells belonging only to your pet and which can repair its own tissues without causing any biological stress.
At the time of the transplant, the veterinarian knows exactly how many cells he administers and is assured of their vitality.
At TheraStem, we have chosen to focus on caution and scientific knowledge to ensure safety and the best treatments for your pet.
Our expertise has led us to propose our solutions for the treatment of osteoarticular conditions (tendon lesion, bone degeneration, osteoarthritis).
Our teams are working to expand our field of action, including skin lesions, gingivostomatitis and degenerative neuropathies.
